Health Topics for Children - Recommended Reading: Home

What are Health Topics for Children?

'Health Topics for Children' are brochures designed for health professionals to give to families for further reading on particular health topics. Each health topic has a list of recommended reading resources for children. The content is aimed at ages 4 - 12. The guides also include some recommended reading for adults.

If available, the books can be borrowed from a school library or local public library.

They can also be purchased. 'Booko' is a free website that compares the price of a book at various book shops. However online book shops such as Book Depository and Fishpond offer free delivery world-wide.

There are two versions of the brochures. A version specific to Redland Hospital, Cleveland QLD. These are for staff at the hospital to print off and give to patients that link the recommended resources to the local public libraries.

The second version is a generic one that is available to any person to download and print off and use as recommended reading material

Topics Include:

  • Broken Bones
  • Explaining Death to Children
  • Infection Control
  • Nut Allergies
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Pet Allergies
  • Second Baby
  • Visit to the Dentist
