Falls prevention is about eliminating or reducing the risk of physical and psychological harm associated with falls in older people. It is also about providing older people with information about how to stay healthy, active, independent and on their feet. Every day, 133 older Queenslanders have a fall requiring medical attention, even though falls are mostly preventable. Falls have a big impact on mobility and independence, but there are steps that can be taken to reduce the risk.
